March Photo Drop

I love these photo drop posts because I don't have to think of a theme for them. My life doesn't really run by theme.

We pulled out our video camera to see what was on there (and soon realized we don't do enough videos). Most of what was there was of Norah, so she had fun cozying up like this to watch the show.

We had some playtime with cousin Cohen while his mom, dad, and baby brother looked for a new car. I think of all her cousins, Norah plays best with Co. Probably because he's just young enough to still let her boss him around.

I caught this video of my belly one day. This little boy is a crazy mover! Nowadays he's completely run out of room, so my belly doesn't move quite like this anymore.

Girls' night out to Chessecake Factory. Khloe was a pretty good sport about letting Norah totally invade her space to watch a show while waiting for our dinner.

There's a pretty fun playground we like to hit up in North Salt Lake. Sometimes, Rich is the biggest kid there. Rich: "This would make such a great obstacle course!" Shara: "Please don't injure yourself."

Taking daddy to work one morning. Of course, Lambie had to come. She LOVES her Lambie. She comes just about everywhere with us.

Date night at the Jazz game!

And a family date night to Johnny Rocket's. Norah had just gone to a birthday party that day where she made that stuffed dog (now lovingly named Woofio), so we had to bring him everywhere that day.

Norah just looked at what I was doing and said, "That's me having a messy, pink cupcake face!"

32 1/2 weeks pregnant. How did I think was huge then?! It's amazing how much that belly can grow by the end!

Norah has great race style, don't you think?

I absolutely love this picture. This was from a trip to Kangaroo Zoo, which Norah calls "Kangaweed Zoo" for some reason.

You have to get creative to keep a two-year-old happy at Costco.

One Saturday in March, our water heater completely stopped working. We called our maintenance guy and he ended up having to replace the whole thing, So, I headed over to Skyler and Courtney's to take a shower while our water was off. Skyler won the title of favorite uncle (at least for a couple days) when he took Norah and her cousins on a bike ride to 7-Eleven. I'm pretty sure every two-year-old would agree that there are few things better than Slurpees and Cheetos.

Norah's first Jazz game! We had a set of upper bowl tickets that we didn't think we'd be able to use since we couldn't get a babysitter when Rich realized he could bring Norah and not feel guilty for leaving early because the tickets were free! I love Fanzz.

The last time I attempted to paint my toenails, and the first time I attempted to paint Norah's. Neither were perfect, but Norah was ecstatic!

So, I always knew that learning to ride a bike was hard, but I never really realized that you have to learn to ride a tricycle, too. You don't just automatically understand pedaling. And it's even harder when the pedals are just barely too far for you to easily reach. This is going to be her summer to learn, though!

 Kite flying

Ugh. Bedtime (the whole process that goes along with it) is the worst. We often have some stuffed guest joining scripture study to pacify the little one. Too bad that only works about a third of the time.

Madison's Blessing

I know it sounds ridiculous, but one of the main reasons I haven't posted in so long is that I've been waiting to get pictures from Rich's phone. And it's taken me this long to remember. I finally got them last night, so let's get some posting done (as much as I can before baby boy decides to make his arrival).

At the end of March, we made a weekend trip to Provo to spend time with the Wings and the Harrisons and to attend Madison's blessing. We're sad that both the Wings and Harrisons will be leaving Utah VERY soon, so it was fun to spend time with them.

After arriving in Provo, and a lot of deliberation, we ended up at a park to have a picnic dinner, fly kites, play tennis, and play on the playground. I couldn't resist how adorable Norah and Kelsey were together, so fascinated by the kite. Best $4 investment ever.

Holding the star of the weekend, little Miss Madison

Playtime in Kelsey's room turned into a disaster zone. Something about getting these two girls together really brings out the crazy side of Norah. She goes into full-on tornado mode.

We spent the night at the Harrisons' house, and they made us waffles in the morning (thanks for the spoiling, Andrea and Jed!). Then it was over to the blessing.

All of the Nelson clan that could make it to the blessing

Such a doll! I still can't believe all of her hair and the adorable chubbiness. Norah was bald and skinny (and I imagine baby boy will be, too), so the two Wing baby girls have been so opposite of what I'm used to.

Kelsey absolutely loves her baby sister. I love being around them because Kelsey often stops what she's doing to give Madison loves (sometimes she goes a little overboard with them, but it's still absolutely adorable). I hope Norah has been watching and learning from her cousin, although I feel like she's just kind of going to ignore her brother for the first month or so.

I'm so glad we were able to make it to Madison's blessing, such a special day for the Wing family! It made me so excited for our little boy to get here. I wish the waiting was over already!

February Photo Drop

I'm too nervous to watch the BYU-Ole Miss game right now, so I'm going to blog instead. Too bad I'm still in the same room as the TV, and Rich is still watching and reacting to the game.

Here are some leftover pictures from February that don't really fit anywhere else.

We did Super Bowl Sunday with my family. I didn't really care about the game (though I was, of course, rooting for the Seahawks), but the food and company were great.

I got to hold new baby Beck. Oh, I'm so ready for my baby boy to get here.

Norah and Cohen, watching Co's favorite movie, "Wreck-It Ralph." Thanks to him, that's now on the top of Norah's list, too.

I love pictures of napping Norah because they are so rare nowadays. This is from February 2nd, her most recent nap (not including ones in the car).

26 1/2 weeks pregnant. I thought I was so huge in this picture, but 6 weeks later I'm still growing (and growing and growing and growing).

Early in the month, we met Cami and Kelsey for an Ikea trip. I didn't need (or buy) anything, but it's so fun to walk around. And these two girls have so much fun together.

February brought us some incredible weather (which I know we're going to regret when the summer drought starts). But we still enjoyed the park, jacket-free!

Another zoo trip! This time Rich got to come with us.

Rich loves balsamic vinegar. One dinner, Norah saw Rich putting it on his broccoli, and she decided right then that she wanted it and that she would love it. It's definitely an acquired taste, so it took some getting used to. (Now, she really does love it. We had broccoli again tonight and I gave her some vinegar to dip it in. So she started dipping her fingers in it and licking it off. Crazy child.)

It just doesn't get any cuter than this to me.

We had a self-declared Frozen day. It started with Frozen cereal (not worth it - Norah suckered me into buying it, and she's not even interested in it anymore, despite the marshmallows), then putting on the Anna dress and doing our Frozen puzzle, and, finally (obviously) watching the movie.

Okay, I have no idea where this dancing came from, but it's hilarious! And, no, we don't normally listen to this music around our place. Blame Pandora.

Little Miss Kayla's first birthday party. Such a cutie!

Sleeping in style on the way home from the party. I don't know how that's comfortable, but that's how she likes to ride in the car (and apparently sleep, too).

Baby Madison, another baby to make me ready for ours

I was working on something on the computer, and I looked over to see I was missing this adorable moment. She loves her tiara and her books. (She will literally wear that tiara all day, even out in public. And I let her because that's one fight I don't want to have.)

Grandma Nelson came down to help the Wings with baby Madison, and we were so happy to spend some time with her. She spent the night at our house (twice, actually), and Norah had so much fun showing her the fires and water show at Station Park and taking her to Apollo Burger for dinner.

Technically this picture is from March, but it happened while Grandma was here. Grandma came to church with us, and she helped Norah do her hair. Despite what Norah's face shows, she actually thought it was the funniest thing ever. (She was just not in the mood to be told to smile for a picture.)

That's all for February! Pretty soon March will be in the books, too. And, once it's April, I can officially say the baby will be here next month! Getting closer!

(Dang. BYU lost. Now my only choice is to cheer against Kentucky. Sorry Ryan and Jed.)

Happy Birthday to Me!

I absolutely love my birthday. Always have. I don't really even know what it is about it that makes it so great. It just is.

And Rich did an amazing job this year making my birthday fun.. He sure knows how to spoil me.

My birthday was on a Monday this year, and he had big plans for the actual day. We decided to do cake on Sunday, and, at first, it was going to be only the Nellys. Then, about half an hour before church, he asked me if we wanted to invite my family over for cake. One thing led to another on my family's GroupMe account, and, by the time we got out of church, it had turned into a dinner at my parents' house. My family raved about Rich's BTS cake. He's kind of a pro at them now - I think I've requested it for my past 3 birthdays now. (The key is to poke big holes in the cake and use plenty of sweetened condensed milk.)

On Monday, he had Norah and me drive him to work, and the only thing he told for the evening was to pick him up from work at 4 and to pack Norah's pajamas and Pack N Play. I love a good surprise so it was already starting out good!

During the day, Norah and I hung out and went to lunch with my dad and sister at Costa Vida.

Then, we went to pick up Rich, and the real fun began! I expected him to take us to West Jordan so one of his siblings there could watch Norah but was surprised when we kept driving on towards Provo. Eventually he let me know that Andrea and Jed would be watching Norah but that was all he would say.

*Side note. Norah had a fantastic time with the Harrisons! She loved their games and running around their apartment and visiting Kelsey (and Kelsey's new sister Madison). Great job, Harrisons!

Andrea was such a good aunt and made sure Norah was plenty bundled up for the walk to Kelsey's house. I especially love the gloves!

Andrea and Jed showed us this adorable video when we picked Norah us afterwards. So fun!

Meanwhile, after a quick trip to see brand new baby Madison (who is so stinkin' adorable and makes me crazy baby hungry), Rich declared it was time for dinner. I was pretty sure I knew where we were going and was not disappointed when we pulled into Winger's. Probably my favorite restaurant, but so many of the ones up north have gone out of business (including the one in Bountiful). I've been talking about Winger's since we moved back to Utah but we hadn't been. Thanks for fixing that, Rich!

After my delicious dinner of Sticky Fingers with Original Amazing Sauce, we headed to Target to kill a little bit of time. We got a couple boxes of candy for whatever was to come, checked out the baby boy clothes (still trying to get used to looking at boy stuff) and headed out.

The mystery was still on, and I was super surprised when we pulled up to the Hale Center Theater in Orem and saw the sign for Les Miserables! What a fun birthday surprise! Rich really nailed it!

The women behind us were apparently Hale Theater of Orem connoisseurs, and I swear they knew half the cast from other performances.

The show was fantastic. It's such a tiny theater, you wouldn't think their shows would be that awesome. But they really do a fantastic job. We saw Singin' in the Rain there back in our Provo days and loved it. We definitely weren't disappointed this time around either! The voices were fantastic! I especially loved the girl who played Eponine. So well done!

After the show, we headed back to Provo to pick up Norah, who had (of course) gone to sleep peacefully for Andrea and Jed (Why won't she do that for us?!), and then made our way back to Bountiful.

It's been 3 weeks and I'm still raving about how much I loved my birthday surprise! Seriously, thank you so much Rich! I had so much fun!
